    The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Abuja Delegation is looking for a suitable candidate (male/female) with the capacity to work independently to fill the below vacancy as of 01 January 2012:

    Cooperation Accountant

    Main Responsibilities:
    • To monitor expenditures of ICRC-funded partnership programmes according to agreed budgets
    • To follow-up on the due liquidation and proper documentation of ICRC financial support granted to its partners
    • To establish budgets and monitor their appropriate implementation
    • To train and coach ICRC and non-ICRC colleagues in ICRC standard procedures regarding budgeting, financial management, and due process
    • To establish and maintain effective working relations with various partners
    Required Qualifications:
    • University degree in Business Administration
    • Minimum of 2 years work experience, preferably in the non-profit sector
    • Experience of project management an asset
    • Excellent command of written and spoken English
    • Good command of Hausa is an asset
    • Advanced computer skills, particular MS Word and Excel
    • Preparedness to travel and work all over Nigeria
    • Good team spirit and ability to work in a multi-cultural working environment
    • Good communication and negotiation skills
    • Pro-active and initiative working approach

    Context/Scope:
    a)     Financial

    c)     Leadership Responsibilities

    Carry out designated analyses promptly and accurately in line with Guinness Nigeria PLC (GNPLC) work procedure and ensure results are well-documented on-line, notebooks and on-line Kalamazoo and results sent to user dept promptly.

    Purpose of Role:
    To ensure bench work quality control determination are carried out in accordance with GNPLC quality procedures and specifications for the attainment of high quality products

    Principal Accountabilities:
        Determination and reporting of analytical parameters, as appropriate and as specified. Working within guidelines to ensure that results are repeatable and aligned to other laboratories on an interchange basis.
        Working with the appropriate parts of the supply function (as required) to assist them in delivering products of the highest quality in terms of content and presentation.
        Acting as a member of the Quality team, and displaying the behaviours expected of a strong team player.

    Qualifications and Experience Required:
    - OND or HND in physical, chemical or biological sciences.
    - On the job experience, having worked for minimum of 2 years in a laboratory environment.
    - Result oriented.
    - Very good communication skills.
    - Good interpersonal skills.
     
    Barriers to Success in Role:
    As the business will rely on the quality of the output from the individual to make business decisions around the quality of its components and products, lack of a very responsible attitude to work will be a hindrance to the individual. Similarly, a low boredom threshold will be a problem.

    b)    Market Complexity
    The Nigerian Liquor landscape is complex with major challenges. High import tariffs on spirits and an immature retail market. The development of the route to market will be key to unlocking the potential of the Diageo spirits portfolio.

    There is a developed formal On trade channel in the major urban areas whilst opportunities for spirits within the broader TBA business are as yet unrealised.
    Cracking this will transform the Nigerian liquor landscape.
    c)     Leadership and Functional Responsibilities

    The role is responsible for the Spirits Distributor relationship and route to market within the Diageo Brands Nigeria business. Leadership and Sales Functional capabilities are expected to be at a level commensurate with the role.

    The role will lead, implement and execute marketing strategic plans in field and be accountable for the execution of priority sales drivers. He or she will be primarily responsible for the relationship between Diageo Spirits and our key distributors.
    · Key member of the Spirits Leadership team.
    · Recruitment, development and management of the Spirits field sales teams.
    . Distributor and Customer management.

    · Ownership of the Performance outcomes the national Spirits field sales needs to deliver.
    · Drive the highest standards of execution excellence.
    . Managing 3 Regional Managers, Sales Support manager and a Key account manager, responsible for Wholesale/On-Trade and Off-trade.

    Purpose of Role
    To lead, motivate and develop the Spirits sales structure to deliver the annual operating plan in line with the long term strategy.
